Adjunct EMDR Therapy in Corpus Christi, Tx

Introducing Adjunct EMDR for clients who feel like they are stuck:

Adjunct EMDR is a collaborative approach where you, as the client, work with a primary therapist who is not trained in EMDR, but you wish to benefit from EMDR therapy. In this process, you continue your work with your primary therapist and also begin a journey with a secondary therapist, Marisol Garza, who specializes in EMDR. This dual-therapist setup allows for a more comprehensive and personalized approach to your concerns. The sessions can be concurrent, giving you the flexibility to decide when to meet with each therapist, or you may choose to focus intensively with Marisol as your EMDR therapist for a time period. After this, you can return to your primary therapist to continue the long-term healing work together.

STEP 1 – Intake paperwork along with personalized treatment workbook.

STEP 2 – Once your resources, assessments, and personalized treatment workbook are complete then we can schedule your 90-minute Pre-Intensive Interview.

STEP 3 – After a 2-hour Pre-Intensive Interview is complete then you are hopefully ready to begin an EMDR session. (The number of sessions is dependent upon you as the client, what it is that you want to work through, and what I, as your EMDR therapist, assess what the need is.)

STEP 4 – After the agreed-upon time frame for Adjunct EMDR Therapy is completed, the client returns to work exclusively with their primary therapist if they have taken a pause.

STEP 5 – There will be a 2-hour follow-up session to debrief the overall experience and reflect on areas of insight, relief, and transformation. We will also discuss your next steps for continued growth and healing.

One of the key aspects of Adjunct EMDR is its focus on your specific concerns. We don’t delve into your entire history or life, as those aspects are explored with your primary therapist. Instead, we concentrate on the situations that you specifically want to work through with EMDR. This personalized approach ensures that your therapy is tailored to your unique needs and goals.

While it’s typically recommended to do 7-9 sessions, the number of sessions is ultimately up to you and your needs. After this, you can return to your primary therapist for a talk therapy session to debrief and verbally process what you’ve been exploring in EMDR. We can continue this pattern as long as you wish to receive EMDR for other trauma symptoms.  This flexibility allows you to pace your therapy according to your comfort and preferences, while also considering your insurance benefits.

Payment for each session is required when booking to reserve your spot. Third-party billing is optional for possible reimbursement once you reach out out-of-network deductible.
